TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.
ENTERING THE COMPETITION
  1. Teams must be comprised of any combination of three people from one agency.
  2. Each team of three people can only enter once. There’s no limit to the number of entries per agency.
  3. By entering the Competition and/or submitting an entry, entrants (“You”) are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

DELIVERABLES
  1. Teams must create a Direct Mail Campaign for a Charity* of their choice. *Charity is defined as any registered charity (please check https://www.charitiesregulator.ie/en for full list). Any company or corporation who runs a CSR campaign that is directly linked back to a registered charity is also eligible.
  2. Deliverables; a hard copy presentation containing the following information;
    1. 1 Page summary of your campaign, detailing how it works and what it will achieve for your chosen charity
    2. Physical mock-up of the piece/s Please note: all piece/s submitted must be suitable to go through the An Post postal system, for more information on this please go here.
  1. Final presentations should be delivered to IAPI, 12 Clanwilliam Square, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin 2 by 5.30pm on February 20th.
  2. Entries must not contain any agency branding.
  3. Any entries received after the applicable deadlines will not be accepted. Limit of one entry per team.
  4. You own the copyright to your entry as its author.
  5. Your entry must be your own work, must not be copied, must not contain any third-party materials and/or content that you do not have permission to use and must not otherwise be obscene, defamatory or in breach of any applicable legislation or regulations. If we have reason to believe your entry is not your own work or otherwise breaches this paragraph 10, then it may not be considered.
  6. By submitting an entry to the competition, you give the Promoter and the Charity permission for your winning entry to be published on the An Post and IAPI  websites and grant the Promoter and the Charity a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide right and licence to use, reproduce, display and publish your competition entry in all available digital formats, whether now known or hereafter invented, (including on the Promoter’s and/or the Charity’s website) and hard copy (including in the Promoter’s and/or the Charity’s publications), for purposes connected with the Competition and the Charity’s upcoming marketing campaigns and to adapt the entry to enable such use, reproduction, display and/or publication (including to shorten or edit it for such purposes), and you hereby irrevocably waive, for the benefit of the Promoter and the Charity, all moral rights in the entry to which you are entitled. You agree to indemnify and keep the Promoter and the IAPI indemnified against any claim arising out of the use of your entry by the Promoter and/or the IAPI. The right to use your name, photograph and city of residence for the sole purpose of identifying you as the author of your entry and/or as a finalist or winner of the competition.
  7. By entering the competition, entrants confirm and agree that they are available to attend the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, which takes place 17-22 June 2019 (the “Festival”). Entrants must have at least six months left on a valid passport with no restrictions on flying to France. Entrants must be free to travel to Cannes from 17 June 2019 for up to 7 nights. If any permission is required from your employer to attend the Festival, it should be obtained prior to submitting an entry for the Competition.

ENTRY COSTS
  1. It’s free to enter The Direct Challenge.

PICKING THE WINNERS
  1. A panel of judges will review all entries, create a shortlist for each category and select one winning overall team. Details of the judges can be found on The Direct Challenge website.
  2. The winning team will be announced at a special event on 28th February.
  3. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding their decision.
5.
THE PRIZE
  1. The prize is a full week’s pass for each member of the winning team for Cannes Lions Festival 2019, including flights and accommodation.
  2. Each member of the winning team will also receive return flights to Nice and accommodation in Cannes, as booked by An Post. Winners will need to arrange their own transportation to and from the airport in Dublin. We will arrange the transfer from Nice airport to Cannes. Winners should ensure that they obtain any required visas, travel insurance, permissions and comply with conditions of travel.
  3. If any winner rejects their prize, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and IAPI & An Post shall be entitled to select another winning team.
  4. The prize cannot be exchanged or transferred and cannot be redeemed for any other prize. No cash alternative is available. The Winning Team(s) must pay all other costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize.
  5. By submitting your entry to the Competition, you submit that you have read, understood and agree to all the Competition rules and regulations.
  6. The Promoter takes no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.
  7. The winners may be required for promotional activity and shall participate in such activity on the Promoter’s and/or the Charity’s reasonable request. Each member of each winning team consents to the use by the Promoter and/or the Charity and their related companies, both before and after the closing date of the Competition for an unlimited time, of their voice, image, photograph and name for publicity purposes (in any medium, including still photographs and films, and on the internet, including any websites hosted by the Promoter and/or the Charity and their related companies) and in advertising, marketing or promotional material without additional compensation or prior notice and in entering the Competition, all entrants consent to the same.
  8. If anyone under the age of 16 appears in your Competition entry you will need to highlight this when asked on the entry form and provide contact details. We will then get in touch with you to ask for signed, written consent (which may include email) from the relevant parent or guardian for each person under the age of 16 who appears in your Competition entry. This is required for us to publish your entry. If written consent is not provided we will not be able to publish the entry or to award it a prize.
  9. By submitting your entry to the Competition, you represent that the content you submit:
    • is not and does not contain any material that is obscene, threatening, harassing, libellous, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive of another’s privacy, offensive, defamatory of any person or otherwise illegal;
    • does not infringe any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual or proprietary or privacy right of any party or individual; and
    • will not contain software viruses or any other computer code, files, or programs designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of the IAPI site or any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.
  10. The Promoter shall use and take care of any personal information you supply in accordance with data protection legislation. By entering the competition, you agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact you about your Competition entry.
  11. The Promoter of the Competition is An Post, GPO, O’Connell Street, Dublin 1. Any complaints regarding the Competition should be sent to: post.media@anpost.ie
  12. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude the liability of An Post for death, personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation as a result of their negligence.
  13. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the Competition or accepting any prize. The Promoter further disclaims all liability for any injury or damage to you or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Competition.
  14. The Promoter reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside their control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of the Promoter in all matters under its control is final and binding.
